What is the percentage of water-soluble pesticides to fat-soluble pesticides?
Because water-soluble pesticide and fat-soluble pesticide differ on different levels, it is not easy to distinguish water-soluble pesticides and fat-soluble pesticides.
For example, some biological medicaments and chemical medicaments are dissolved by neither water nor organic solvents. However, most chemical pesticides are lipophilic. These pesticides are produced by different chemical element, such as emulsifiable concentrate, emulsion, micro-emulsion, wettable powder, suspension concentrate, water dispersible granules, tablet. These chemical elements are either non-water-soluble or extremely low water-soluble. However if these pesticides are made into a solution, water soluble powder, water soluble granules or water soluble tablet, the chemical elements can be dissolved in water through repeated dilution. Thus, on the average, 80% of the over 400 registered pesticides in Taiwan are fat-soluble.
